Five Korean craftspeople have been named as finalists for the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize 2024, the foundation said Thursday.
 
The finalists are Chun Eun-mi in the jewelry category, Kim Hee-chan in the wood category, Kim Ki-ra in the glass category, Weon Rhee in the furniture category and Debaroun in the leather category.

The award is in its seventh edition this year and has selected 30 shortlisted works among over 3,900 submissions from 124 regions. The exhibition for the finalists will be held at the Palais de Tokyo contemporary art center in Paris from May 15 to June 9.
 
Exhibitions from past editions have been held at numerous venues globally, including The Noguchi Museum in New York and the Seoul Museum of Craft Art in central Seoul.
 
The winner of the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize 2024 will be announced on May 14. The winner will be awarded 50,000 euros ($53,600).
 
Jeong Da-hye, known for her baskets woven from horsehair, is the first and only Korean craftsperson to win the award back in 2022.
