CJ Logistics built a logistics center designed exclusively to handle the goods of Crocs, an American footwear brand that enjoys robust sales growth in Korea.

The new center in Icheon, Gyeonggi, consolidates Crocs' previously scattered logistics operations across two different facilities to bolster its delivery capacity and time, according to the company on Thursday.

Spanning an area of 20,000 square meters (215,000 square feet), the Icheon logistics center can deal with up to 50,000 boxes of Crocs shoes per day, doubling the company's previous handling capacity.

Situated approximately 58 kilometers southeast of Seoul, Icheon's location offers logistical advantages owing to its proximity to major consumers and robust transportation links.

The integrated facility serves over 90 Crocs retail outlets nationwide — including standalone stores, department stores and large retail chains — as well as online sales channels.

Operational workflows within the center have been optimized from the design phase, with separate processes implemented for store deliveries and online order fulfillment simultaneously.

Moreover, the center has adopted automation technologies developed by CJ Logistics, including over 50 robotic Mini Automatic Guided Vehicles, which have increased productivity by replacing human workers and streamlining the sorting and packaging of over 8,000 Crocs products for distribution.

CJ Logistics, Korea's largest logistics company, not only manages Crocs' logistics operations within Korea but also extends its services to Singapore, China, and India — marking the first Korean company to secure logistics operations across four Asian countries. The company opened a Crocs-specialized logistics center in Singapore in 2019, followed by China and Korea in 2022, and India last year. CJ Logistics has pursued international expansion through the establishment of local subsidiaries.

"Crocs' commitment to establishing and fortifying Korea's logistics hub within less than two years underscores their dedication to deepening their investment in Korea, a market known for its consistent and robust growth," a CJ Logistics official said. "With the integrated logistics center serving as the cornerstone, we aim to further enhance collaboration with Crocs in the Asian market."
