BTS’s Jungkook ranked 10th on the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry’s (IFPI) 2023 chart for top global singles with his debut solo, “Seven.” His is the only Korean song in the top 10. The chart was released on Feb. 26.

The IFPI has over 8,000 record labels across the world as its members and compiles the chart based on figures from paid subscription streaming services, downloads and physical music sales during the calendar year.

Other Korean artists that have previously entered the chart for top global singles include Psy in 2012 and BTS for “Dynamite” in 2020 and for “Butter” in 2021.

BigHit Music, which represents Jungkook, said on Tuesday that “Jungkook became the first Korean solo artist to achieve the feat in 11 years after Psy and the first Korean artist to put his name on the list for both solo and group works.”

Others on the list include Miley Cyrus' "Flowers" at No. 1, SZA's "Kill Bill" at No. 3 and Harry Styles' "As It Was" at No. 5.

“Seven” is one of 11 songs in Jungkook’s first solo album “Golden,” which was released in November. “Seven,” which was in July last year before the album, debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard’s Hot 100 main singles chart as soon as its release. The album includes “3D (feat. Jack Harlow)” and the lead track “Standing Next to You.” He sold more than 2 million copies of the album on the first day of its release, the highest ever for a K-pop soloist.
