Korea adds 330,000 jobs in February

Korea added 330,000 jobs in February led by job growth among people aged above 60, showed Statistics Korea data on Wednesday.
 
The number of employed people came to 28.04 million last month, up 329,000 from a year earlier.

The number of newly employed people increased by 297,000 among those aged 60 and above, followed by an addition of 84,000 among those in their 50s.
 
The employment rate of people aged 15-64 increased 0.7 percentage point on year to 68.7 percent last month while the jobless rate also grew 0.1 percentage point to 3.2 percent, the data showed.
 
It was the second consecutive month the number of new jobs in the country exceeded 300,000. In January, 380,000 jobs were added after three months of job additions below 300,000.
