The Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary through a four-day event starting Thursday, the same day the silver spaceship-like landmark opened in 2014.

The first event is a discount on all designer-made merchandise in the DDP Design Store. At 3:21 p.m. every day, 100 people will be chosen in a raffle to purchase the goods for only 1,000 won ($0.75). Others will be sold at 10 to 20 percent discounts during the event.

During the daytime, a tour of the DDP will be held, focusing on the architectural aspects and history of the building. The tour will include a visit to areas that are normally closed to the public as well as learning the 120-year history of the Dongdaemun neighborhood in central Seoul.

There will be another tour during the evening that allows visitors to explore the night scenery surrounding the DDP.

The schedule and reservations for the tours are available here.

There will also be a birthday-themed photo op spot at the DDP and an NFT (non-fungible token) giveaway. The NFTs can be obtained here.

The DDP has teased that it will hold more events throughout the year, including exhibitions on Alexander McQueen, Dior and Comme des Garçon, design fairs and conferences, and the annual Seoul Light DDP media facade show.

DDP, designed by the late Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid (1950-2016), has become Korea’s flagship landmark, seeing over 10 million visitors each year. The building has been introduced in foreign press, such as The New York Times and CNN.
