Police are searching for a man who punched a Vietnamese woman in the face on a bus on Wednesday.

The victim’s acquaintance filed a report at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, stating that “a man attacked a female passenger for no reason and fled the scene,” on a bus passing by Seryu Station in Suwon, Gyeonggi, according to Suwon Nambu Police Precinct.

The victim, in her 20s, testified to the police that the man suddenly punched her in the face, claiming that she was stumbling inside the bus.

After punching her, the man immediately got off the bus and fled the scene, the victim said.

Due to the attack, the victim suffered injuries including a nosebleed.

The victim stated that the assailant was a complete stranger to her.

The attacker has not yet been identified, according to the police.

“We still have to investigate to fully understand the situation as we have only been able to secure a statement from the victim,” the police said. “We plan to track down the man by checking footage from nearby surveillance cameras and vehicle black boxes.”
