LG Uplus, Korea’s third-largest mobile carrier, released a slate of AI-powered services targeting small business owners on Monday.

The company aims to apply the much-hyped technology to the business-to-business (B2B) realm as it moves away from its mainstay telecom business.

The package includes six services utilizing AI bots that undertake a number of tasks, including telephone calls, service orders and reservations. Business owners can pay monthly subscriptions to use the services and can configure each service according to their needs.

The company says that its service package distinguishes itself from other similar services on the market as it uses one software program to manage various functions. Currently, store owners must use separate store management programs for different services, such as one for phone reservations and another for ordering from kiosks.

LG Uplus is confident that implementing its services will substantially help small businesses by cutting the costs spent on human personnel.

“By utilizing our digital products, a store owner with 10 seats will be able to take on their busiest hours of the day with only one additional staff member,” said Park Sung-yul, head of LG Uplus’s corporate business group, at Monday's press event.

“Currently, users can utilize all six services for a monthly subscription fee of 150,000 won ($111) using our promotional discounts. Once that’s over, owners will spend about 300,000 won monthly for full access.”

The company aims to reach an annual revenue of 200 billion won through its AI and digital unit by 2027, spearheaded by its latest AI services in the B2B market.
