Samsung's on-device AI features will support three additional languages to expand its global user base.

Arabic, Indonesian and Russian are the three languages that will be added to the Galaxy AI suite. Three new dialects — Australian English, Cantonese and Canadian French — will also be incorporated into the features as well.

Updates will be released sometime this month.

Galaxy AI will then be available in 16 languages, including Korean, English, Chinese, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Thai and Hindi.

Galaxy AI currently provides features such as Live Translate, enabling real-time translations during phone calls, and the Chat Assist feature that offers contextually relevant suggestions to help the user perfect conversational tones in an another language. Text summaries, transcription and summarization of voice recordings are also part of the features.

Another four new languages — Romanian, Turkish, Dutch and Swedish — will be updated on Galaxy AI sometime this year.

“Committed to democratizing mobile AI for all, Galaxy AI’s language expansion this year will allow even more Galaxy users to communicate beyond language barriers on a scale that is completely unique to Samsung,” said Roh Tae-moon, president and head of Samsung’s mobile business, in a statement. “We will continue to innovate our technology and pioneer premium mobile AI experiences so that even more users are equipped with the right tools to unleash their unlimited potential.”

Galaxy AI features, which were first introduced in its most recent G24 series, are currently available on previous-generation S23 models as well as the S23 FE, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5 and Tab S9 series.
