Models wearing contemporary-looking hanbok (traditional Korean dress) made the Cheonggyecheon area in central Seoul their runway on Friday.

The hanbok fashion show, which went on during Friday's lunch hour for 20 minutes from noon, was a part of the Korea Tourism Organization's Visit Korea Year campaign.

The organization said the fashion show, titled “Korea Express Road,” was organized as a special event to promote the beauty of traditional Korean heritage to both Koreans and foreigners and to let more people know about the 2023-2024 Visit Korea Year campaign.

In an effort to boost tourism, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has designated the years 2023 and 2024 as Visit Korea Year and set a goal of attracting a cumulative 30 million tourists by 2027.
