Incoming tourists surge 218 percent in July on year

The number of international tourists coming to Korea rose over threefold on year last month, according to the Korea Tourism Organization Wednesday.  
 
The number of incoming tourists in July surged 218 percent to 263,986 this year.
 
By country, the number of visitors from the United States was the highest at 53,942, followed by Vietnam at 18,867, the Philippines at 18,146 and China at 17,907.
 
Incoming travelers from Singapore rose 5,617 percent, Thailand 2,284 percent and Japan 1,238 percent in July due to the travel bubble and relaxed visa requirements.
