Police release details about death of singer Park Bo-ram

Police reported Friday that singer Park Bo-ram had been drinking with friends on Thursday night when she was found unconscious at a residence in Namyangju, Gyeonggi.

Park had been drinking with two people at the friend’s residence before she was found unconscious in the bathroom by the same two people at around 9:55 p.m., Namyangju police said.

The two had went to look for Park as she did not come out of the bathroom. After discovering she was unconscious, they called the police.

Park was found slumped over a dressing table in the bathroom, the two testified to the police. She was reportedly under cardiac arrest when the police and emergency services reached her.

The singer was transported to Hanyang University Guri Hospital while receiving CPR but was declared dead at 11:17 p.m.

An autopsy will be held Saturday to determine the cause of death and an investigation into her death is ongoing, according to police.

Park’s death was announced by her label, Xanadu Entertainment, earlier on Friday.

Park first became known to the public after competing on Mnet’s audition show “Superstar K 2” (2010), in which she ultimately finished as a Top 7 finalist. She made her debut in August 2014 with the single, “Beautiful (feat. Zico of Block B).”
