Ukraine's Korea ambassador visits HD Hyundai Construction Equipment

Ukrainian Ambassador to South Korea Dmytro Ponomarenko paid a visit to HD Hyundai Construction Equipment (HCE) to explore opportunities to collaborate in rebuilding Ukraine after the war, the Korean company said Tuesday.

During his visit to HCE’s global education center in Eumseong County, 84 kilometers (52 miles) southeast of Seoul, CEO Choi Cheol-gon and other officials had talks with the Ukrainian diplomat about strategies to supply construction equipment for the European country's post-war reconstruction efforts and to facilitate the training of local technicians and experts.

The meeting follows HCE’s previous partnership with Ukraine’s government, during which the company donated excavators for emergency recovery operations last year as part of the Seoul government’s delegation to support reconstruction projects.

“Ensuring rapid recovery requires not only the supply of equipment but also the training of maintenance technicians,” said an HCE official.

“We are committed to assisting Ukraine in developing its construction industry following the post-war reconstruction phase.”
