It has been a year since a professional baseball game was canceled due to high levels of fine dust particles.
The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced Wednesday that the game was canceled due to fine dust.
According to KBO regulations, if the fine dust concentration exceeds 300 micrograms per cubic meter and continues for more than two hours, a game can be canceled.
Air quality is expected to remain bad through Friday, especially in the Gangwon and southern regions, including Busan, Ulsan and Jeju.
Seoul, likewise, will see a temporary rise in fine dust concentration levels at night.
Heavy rainfall is expected nationwide over the weekend, which weather analysts say could disperse the high concentrations of fine dust.
