Residents feel shaking as 2.6 magnitude earthquake rattles North Gyeongsang

A 2.6-magnitude earthquake hit North Gyeongsang on Monday at around 7:47 a.m.
 
The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) reported the same day that the earthquake occurred on land five kilometers (three miles) west of Chilgok County in North Gyeongsang at a depth of eight kilometers.
 
The KMA said people in the areas near the epicenter could feel the shaking. An earthquake of this magnitude can cause people to feel the shaking and objects to fall.
 
The local fire department received a total of 34 earthquake reports from residents in Chilgok County, Seongju County and Gumi City in North Gyeongsang. Yet, the agency said no damages or injuries were reported.
