Boy band DKZ celebrated its fifth year since debut with a thank you letter to fans through its agency’s press release sent out on Wednesday.

“How will we live without Ari in this cruel, harsh world?” member Jaechan said through Dongyo Entertainment’s press release. Dong-ari, also known by its nickname Ari, is the name of the band’s fan club.

“I hope DKZ will always have a spot in everyone’s hearts, and I will try my hardest to make it so,” he added.

Members Sehyeon, Mingyu and Giseok also expressed their thanks to Ari for joining the band in their music journey of five years, and promised to create good music and memories for their fans.

“We will do our best to repay Ari without losing our gratitude and continue our activities in good health,” Jonghyeong said. “I am honored and glad to be able to share the same time-space [with Ari].”

DKZ debuted as a five-member band on April 24, 2019 with its single “Dongkiz on the Block.” The band has since released six more singles, two EPs and two digital singles that include songs “Lupin” (2022), “Crazy Night” (2023), “Cupid” (2023) and “Uh-Heung” (2023).

The band underwent major changes during its journey of five years. It changed its name from Dongkiz, which it debuted as, in March 2022. In the same year, member Wondae left the band and three members joined, while two other members left the band in 2023. It currently consists of members Sehyeon, Mingyu, Jaechan, Jonghyeong and Giseok.
