Super Junior’s Ryeowook will marry Ari, an actor and former member of girl group Tahiti, in May.

Ryeowook announced the marriage in a handwritten letter posted to Instagram on Friday.

“As all of you know, there is someone that I have been seeing,” he wrote. “A desire to form a family with her naturally emerged as we continued our relationship.”

The two announced their relationship in September 2020 and have openly dated since then.

“The decision was not made hastily and has been thought of since long ago. After discussions with [Super Junior] members and company staff, we have decided to have the wedding in late May of this year,” he continued.

The singer concluded his post by apologizing if the news came as a surprise to fans and thanking Super Junior members, as well as SM Entertainment employees, who had encouraged the decision.

Ryeowook will be the second Super Junior idol to tie the knot. His fellow member Sungmin married actor Kim Sa-eun in December 2014.

The singer made his debut as a member of the band in 2005. He is also a member of subunits Super Junior K.R.Y. and Super Junior-M. He launched his solo career with his first EP, “The Little Prince,” in 2016, and his most recent digital single, “Lingering,” dropped last December.

Ari debuted as a member of Tahiti in 2012 and performed with the group until its disbandment in 2018, after which she began her acting career.
