The Aribauw Gyeongpo Trail Run will take place on May 25, set against the stunning natural backdrop of Gangneung, Gangwon Province.
The event will offer trail running enthusiasts the unique experience of running along the Aribauw Trail, connecting the regions of Jeongseon, Pyeongchang and Gangneung.
The Aribauw Trail is a legacy of the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
The event will take place along approximately 11 kilometers (7 miles) of the trail, encompassing courses such as Gyeongpo Beach, Gyeongpo-Lake Walking Trail, Gyeongpo Prickly Water Lily Wetland, Gyeongpo Ecological Storage Site and more.
This year the race will begin at 5 p.m., providing a memorable experience that allows participants to sprint while enjoying the captivating splendor of the pink sunset over the East Sea.
Participants can register for the event through the Runable app.
Each participant will receive a packaged gift containing commemorative T-shirts, sports bags, completion medals and more.
Moreover, post-event side activities will be organized, including an after-party with beer and various cuisines from the Gangneung region for participants and tourists alike.
Tickets to participate in the event, race packs and optional same-day bus passes are currently being offered to 100 foreigners in Korea.
The winners will be notified individually before the event takes place.
“Following last year’s success, we are committed to hosting the Aribauw Gyeongpo Trail Run once again. By integrating nature-friendly leisure activities like trail running, we aim to further highlight the charm of Aribauw Trail as a significant attraction of Gangwon Province and Gangneung city,” said Choi SungHyun, president of the Gangwon Tourism Organization.
A Runable representative expressed gratitude, saying, “We are very thankful that we were able to host the Aribauw Gyeongpo Trail Run again this year. We made efforts to provide participants with an improved experience. We hope that many people can become closer to nature and lead healthier lives through this special experience. We hope this event will become an occasion beloved by the local community and participants in the future.”
