Hyundai Mobis is operating various support programs to help employees enhance work efficiency and establish a healthy work culture by balancing work and family life.

The company proactively secured a site and constructed the Mabuk Daycare Center to assist its employees. The day care commenced full-scale operations last year.

Each of its four floors was designed to have distinctive purposes, enabling children to engage in learning and playing activities in unique spaces.

Despite the inherent challenges of repurposing an existing building into a day care to meet children’s needs and interests, teachers actively participated in the construction process.

Their involvement ensured that various facilities, ranging from stairs and washbasins to playground equipment, were thoughtfully integrated to suit the children’s requirements.

The spacious layout of the Mabuk Daycare Center was well-received by both employees and children.

Based on a maximum capacity of 210 children, the company’s day care provides three times the legally required space per child in a day care facility.

A multipurpose hall, spanning 70 pyeong (2,490 square feet), allows children to engage in indoor physical activities.

As of the end of last year, the day care had 169 children attending, with a staff of 53. The day care provides four meals and snacks a day, with careful attention given to individual dietary needs, such as allergies, to ensure the well-being of each child.

Hyundai Mobis also operates various welfare programs to support employees in childbirth and child care. These include reduced working hours during pregnancy, reduced working hours during child care, the “Child's Happy Journey program”, child care vouchers and leave for family care, among others.

The company offers a two-hour reduction in working hours for female employees under 12 weeks of pregnancy or over 36 weeks of pregnancy.

Employees caring for children under the age of eight can choose to reduce their working hours by two or four hours per child for up to two years.

For employees welcoming a new child or sending their child to elementary school, the company provides “first encounter” and “first day in school” vouchers.

The benefits offered for the first child is 500,000 won ($370) and for the second child, one million won is applied.

In cases of family illness or accidents necessitating family care, employees can take up to 90 days of family care leave annually.

Hyundai Mobis celebrated Family Month by hosting the “Gather Together with Family” photo contest in April.

The employees responded enthusiastically, and photographs that captured precious moments with all types of family members were submitted.

Winners received resort accommodation vouchers and aquarium passes, providing them with opportunities to create even more positive memories with their families.
