Fictional K-pop band Eclipse debuts on Favorite’s weekly chart

Eclipse — the fictional K-pop boy band from the hit drama “Lovely Runner” — debuted on Favorite’s weekly chart for the fifth week of May.
 
Favorite is a K-pop fan poll codeveloped by the digital streaming service Bugs and the JoongAng Ilbo, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily.
 
Weekly chart rankings are calculated through a combination of fan votes and an artist's number of streams on Bugs.  
 
Girl band QWER landed No. 1 on Favorite’s Weekly Trend poll, receiving a score of 37 percent, accounting for 308,237 votes and 6.1 percent of Bugs’ streaming score.
 
Eclipse followed in second place with 27.8 percent, accounting for 170,651 votes and 10.7 percent of Bugs’ streaming score.
 
Eclipse is the fictional K-pop boy band where Ryu Sun-jae, the lead character in “Lovely Runner,” debuted. Ryu is played by actor Byeon Woo-seok.
 
BabyMonster’s Ahyeon landed third on the Weekly Trend poll with an 18.6 percent score, accounting for 186,557 votes and 0 percent of Bugs’ streaming score.
 
QWER will be awarded a celebratory in-app banner on the Bugs phone app from Friday to Sunday, while Eclipse’s celebratory banner will be featured in the chart categories of the app.

Pitta, also known as Kang Hyung-ho, landed No. 1 on Favorite’s Weekly Comeback chart for the fifth week of May.
 
Pitta scored 40.3 percent, accounting for 166,758 votes and 0.2 percent of Bugs’ streaming score. The singer dropped the EP “New Normal Life” on May 16.  
 
Kang is also a member of the vocal group Forestella.
 
Baekho from boy band NU’EST landed in second place with a 32.4 percent score, while NewJeans landed third with 11.1 percent.
 
Pitta and Baekho’s celebratory advertisements will appear on Parnas Media Tower from June 8 to 21. Parnas Media Tower is located near COEX Mall in Gangnam District, southern Seoul.
