ASML is building a 1 trillion-won ($724.4 million) research center with Samsung Electronics in the city dedicated to High-NA lithography machines considered essential for next-generation chip fabrication.
 
The Dutch chip equipment company is also setting up other projects in Hwaseong dedicated to after-sales service and training.
 
Mayor Jeong said the city will provide a one-stop service to ASML in the proceedings of the projects.
