Jeong Myeong-geun, mayor of Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, far right, has talks with Frank Heemskerk, executive vice president of ASML's global public affairs, second from left, at Hwaseong City Hall on Thursday.
ASML is building a 1 trillion-won ($724.4 million) research center with Samsung Electronics in the city dedicated to High-NA lithography machines considered essential for next-generation chip fabrication.
The Dutch chip equipment company is also setting up other projects in Hwaseong dedicated to after-sales service and training.
Mayor Jeong said the city will provide a one-stop service to ASML in the proceedings of the projects.
