YouTuber Caracula, accused of threatening famous YouTuber Tzuyang, declared his retirement and made all his videos private on Monday.

"I stand before the camera to convey my sincere thoughts as I leave behind my life as a YouTuber, which I have pursued tirelessly for the past five years," Caracula said in a video titled "My Final Farewell.”

Kim is one of the infamous "cyber wreckers" accused of threatening Tzuyang. Cyber wrecker is a derogatory term used in Korea for YouTubers who post maliciously edited videos to insult and criticize celebrities or famous people.

"I did not threaten or extort Tzuyang," said Caracula, while admitting that "all the recent allegations are [his] fault and mistake."

"There is another fact that I have hidden without being honest with you," said the cyber wrecker. "I received money from someone named Suit, who is currently under arrest for fraud."

This contrasts with his comments in a YouTube community post on July 11, where Caracula said, “I swear on my two sons that I have never taken any dirty money as a YouTuber.”

"I introduced cryptocurrency entrepreneur Mr. A, whom I knew from my time as an import car dealer, to Suit," said Caracula. "Suit received tens of billions of won from Mr. A for his new business venture, and I received 30 million won ($21,600) from Suit under the pretext of media relation management, which I used for personal purposes."

"Suit's business turned out to be a scam, and he is currently in custody. Mr. A, who was scammed, is also on trial for a cryptocurrency case," he said.

"I will reveal all the facts without hiding my crimes, cooperate sincerely with the upcoming investigation by the authorities and accept any punishment that may be imposed,” Caracula added. “I will live the rest of my life in quiet reflection and repentance."

Caracula’s apology comes after a myriad of controversies surrounding mukbang (eating show) YouTuber Tzuyang.

YouTube channel HoverLab, Inc claimed on July 10 that Tzuyang had been blackmailed and extorted by cyber wreckers GooJeYeok, Caracula and Jeon Gukjin who used her “controversial” past as leverage.

In response to Hoverlab Inc.’s video, Tzuyang revealed on her YouTube channel that she had been subjected to continuous assault and threats by her ex-boyfriend for four years. The mukbang YouTuber proceeded to file a complaint with the prosecutors’ office against the cyber wreckers who threatened to expose her.

Another notable cyber wrecker, Narak Bogwanso, took down their videos disclosing the identities of some perpetrators of the 2004 Miryang gang rape case and said that the channel would shut down in an apology video on June 26. The details of the perpetrators were allegedly disclosed without the consent of the victim.

Two days later, the channel returned with a video titled “So dumb,” covering an online post from May where a man claimed that he was being wrongly framed for rape.
