The protesters demanded an end to police brutality, justice for the victims and the abolition of the quota system for government employment.
 
In Bangladesh, where protests against the quota system for government jobs have been ongoing for weeks, reports indicate that several students were killed and thousands injured by the police and ruling party affiliates in the latest wave of violence.
