Gwangbok Bread created by the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation in tandem with Daejeon bakery Sungsimdang to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Korea's National Liberation Day that will fall on Aug. 15, 2025 is displayed on Thursday.
Korea was liberated from 35 years of Japanese colonial rule on Aug. 15, 1945. The date was enacted as a national commemorative day -- Gwangbokjeol in Korean -- in 1949.
The Gwangbok Bread will be sold in Sungsimdang stores until Aug. 15. One box consists of four madeleine cakes.
