Kindergartners paint the national flag with their handprints as the Korea's national day of independence approaches.  
 
Aug. 15 marks Korea’s Liberation Day, which commemorates the nation’s independence from Japanese colonization in 1945.  
 
On this day, it’s common to see the Korean flag, Taegeukgi, displayed in the windows of many homes.
