Seoul Fashion Week will kick off on Sept. 3 and run through Sept. 7, with various programs centered around the theme of sustainable fashion.
This year's fashion week will include programs related to the theme of sustainability presented by companies such as Hyosung TNC, Jeju Samdasoo and the fashion brand PARTsPARTs.
Jeju Samdasoo will showcase the clothes it created with designer fashion brand July Column at this year's runway. The clothes used recycled fiber made from empty PET bottles provided by Jeju Samdasoo and are repurposed from July Column's existing pieces.
The runway show will be held on Sept. 4 at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Jung District, central Seoul.
Fashion brand PARTsPARTs is scheduled to hold a special exhibition, dubbed “Zero Waste, Fashion and the Sustainability,” from Sept. 3 to 7 at DDP Jandi Sarangbang in Jung District, central Seoul.
The exhibition will showcase PARTsPARTs’s zero-waste philosophy by highlighting its unique design pattern, its self-developed material “New Neoprene” and its seamless bonding techniques, which aim to reduce fabric waste.
The brand will also offer a hands-on experience for the public and students where participants can create eco-friendly bags using leftover fabric from PARTsPARTs' clothing production on Sept. 6 and 7.
Registration for the hands-on experience event is available on the brand’s official Instagram account.
"Sustainable fashion is not just a passing trend but a direction that the domestic fashion industry must pursue,” Choi Pan-kyu, an official from the Seoul Metropolitan Government, said. “We hope that by experiencing various technologies and examples where style and sustainability coexist, we can drive meaningful changes in awareness and actions regarding environmental protection and social responsibility.”
Seoul Fashion Week is a bi-annual fashion event showcasing various brands’ Spring/Summer (S/S) and Fall/Winter (F/W) collections. The event is hosted and organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
The upcoming Seoul Fashion Week will showcase various brands' 2025 S/S collections. The event will be held around Seoul, including its main venue DDP in Jung District, central Seoul; Seongsu-dong of Seongdong District, eastern Seoul; Cheongdam-dong in southern Seoul; and Hannam-dong in central Seoul.
