Comedian Cho Sae-ho ties the knot on Sunday in star-studded ceremony

Comedian Cho Sae-ho expressed his gratitude to fans and well-wishers on his Instagram account after tying the knot on Sunday.

Cho held his wedding ceremony at the Shilla Hotel in central Seoul with his noncelebrity partner, who is nine years younger than him. Several celebrities, including singer G-Dragon and entertainer Yoo Jae-suk, attended the ceremony.

"Since the news of my wedding was announced much earlier than expected, quite a few people already thought I had gotten married," Cho wrote. "My wedding ceremony has just ended amid the warm congratulations and blessings of so many people."

He continued, "I would like to express my sincere gratitude once again to everyone who was there and congratulated me. I received a lot of help while preparing for this wedding."

Actor Ahn Jae-wook's attendance at the wedding was especially notable. The two celebrities have a long-running joke dating back to 2015 when Cho famously missed Ahn's wedding.

Cho's response to singer Kim Heung-gook's question, "Why didn't you come to Ahn Jae-wook's wedding?” became a viral moment on MBC's variety show "Three Wheels" (2008-2015). His humorous reply — "How could I go if I didn't know?” — earned him the nickname "professional absentee" and led to numerous parodies.

In 2017, Ahn appeared on KBS's variety show "Happy Together Season 3" (2007-2018) and joked about how Cho's absence brought him unexpected fame.

In April, Cho announced his wedding date during the recording of tvN's “You Quiz on the Block” (2018-), which he co-hosts.

Cho debuted as a comedian with SBS in 2001 and has been active on variety shows such as tvN's “You Quiz on the Block” and KBS’s “2 Days & 1 Night” (2007-).

Cho's wife is known to be a 33-year-old office worker at a fashion company. Cho announced that he was planning to get married back in April on "You Quiz on the Block."
