[Sponsored Report] Lotte continues to reach out to those in need
The campaign is held four to five times a year, and the boxes that the company creates contain the perfect gifts for those having a hard time.
For young women, a year’s worth of hand creams, sanitizers and sanitary pads are provided. For widows, the boxes contain lotion, soap and baby goods, and for the blind, braille books are also included.
The third Lotte Pleasure Box Campaign was held on Aug. 27 at a Lotte R&D Center this year.
Employees at Lotte Corporation, 100 volunteers and university supporters known as U-Friends worked together at a daylong event to make 2,500 boxes for families in need. They mostly included food and household goods.
The campaign is special in that it includes followers of the Lotte Facebook page into the social contribution work.
Once the beneficiaries of the pleasure box and the items are selected, the Lotte Facebook page recruits volunteers to participate in this event.
The volunteers take on tasks such as item picking, packaging and even delivering up to 1,300 boxes throughout the process.
A total of 48,000 boxes have been delivered so far through the campaign, and 2,200 people have participated as volunteers.
Lotte plans to continue carrying out similar events to deliver items to the neighbors in need.
In an effort to make society a cozier, more welcoming place for moms, Lotte has launched Mom’s Happiness.
Through the corporate social responsibility project, a diverse range of programs has been created to provide help for moms raising children, with the goal of solving the low birth rate issue.
It started off with the Co-parenting Center, which provides space for military families who have difficulty raising their children.
Along with the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and the Ministry of National Defense, Lotte has been carrying out the project in border areas and now has a total of 16 centers running.
Most of these centers are located around important military bases where, in the past, mothers had a hard time taking good care of their children.
At the Co-parenting Centers, military families share their information on how to take good care of their children and participate in diverse educational programs together.
Other than that, Lotte is carrying out other projects such as Mom’s Happiness Dream Attic, Mom’s Happiness Playground, Mom’s Happiness Pre-mom Project, Sweet Home, Dream Stage and Dream Catchers as part of the corporate social responsibility campaign.
“Dream Together” in Indonesia
Lotte held a scholarship quiz “Dream Together – Beasiswa Juara” for teens in Indonesia to support education in the country.
Together with the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture, Lotte is supporting the dreams and hopes of teenagers and contributing to the cultural and educational background of Indonesia.
After going through preliminary rounds, the main contest was aired on the Indonesian TV channel GTV. Lotte granted a total of 600 million rupiahs ($43,000) to the 10 finalists and their schools.
