If Korea is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, renewable energy will have to account for 56.6 percent to 70.8 percent of total energy use -- from roughly 6 percent today.
Korea’s leading banking group Shinhan Financial Group announced that it will achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Shinhan said it is the first among financial groups in East Asia to announce such zero-carbon emissions plans.
