Korea"s Gasoline Price 5th Highest

The price of gasoline in Korea is the fifth highest in the world after the September 17th oil price increase. According to a report on oil prices made by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Energy (MOCIE), the price of gasoline in Korea is 1,224 won per liter, following France (1,351 won), Italy (1,302 won), Sweden (1,295 won), and Belgium (1,273 won). It was calculated with 1,337 won equalling 1 U.S. dollar, the August 18 exchange rate.
It is 173 won more expensive than the average price in 16 member countries in OECD (1,051 won) and by 374 won more than Japan (850 won). The gasoline price in Turkey is the cheapest, only half of that of France. However, the price of diesel fuel in Korea is the cheapest among OECD countries, half of that of Italy (1004 won).
