Fierce Competition in Computer Software Market

Competition between companies in the computer software market is getting hotter and hotter.
Korea Cybase, a subsidiary of U.S. Cybase, is competing with Korea Oracle to acquire the order for a database from Seoul National University General Hospital.
The size of the database market for hospitals is estimated to be 150 billion won, industry sources said.
An Chul Su Computer Virus Research Institute, Cymantec, and Trand are competing to capture the biggest chunk of the computer virus vaccination software market.
The three companies applied for the test by the Korea Information Telecommunication Technicians Association, a substructure of the Ministry of Information and Telecommunication, last month.
The scale of market for the software is expected to reach more than 10 billion won next year, up from 4 billion won this year.
