ADL Proceeds With Assessment of Semiconductor Companies

Arthur D. Little Consultants, which is now assessing the semiconductor businesses of Hyundai Electronics and LG Electronics, announced on December 14, ' The company will finish the assessment according to its schedule despite the non-cooperation by LG.'
Accordingly, a report on the merger between Hyundai and LG's semiconductor businesses will come out by December 25.
Hyundai Electronics has signed an agreement with ADL that will give ADL the right to determine the new management's makeup, but LG, thus far, has not.
Chung Tae Soo, president of ADL Korea, said, 'As the work was mandated by the Korean government and the Federation of Korean Industries, ADL will complete the assessment anyway.'
Meanwhile, LG emphasized, ' The merger talks are being delayed due to the different positions held by the company and ADL.
ADL will have to focus on the current operating records and financial state.'
