Stock Market Suffers Two-Hour Delay in Opening

The opening of the stock market on February 23 was delayed for about two hours due to a breakdown of the electronic trading system.
Accordingly, the Korean Stock Exchange put off opening operations, regularly scheduled for 9 a.m, to 10:50 a.m.
A source from the Exchange said, 'An unexpected error occurred in the computer system that connects investors' trading orders to the system that organizes and itemizes them.'
He added, 'Because there was no damage to the electronic trading system, stock transactions are now operating smoothly.'
