Semicon Big Deal on the Verge of Completion

The government finally sent a stern warning that it 'cannot wait any more' to two chaebol groups.
Lee Hun Jae, chairman of the Financial Supervisory Commission(FSC), on April 18 delivered the government's standpoint both to LG and Hyundai's leaders that it will not allow more delays on the semiconductor restructuring talks. They have been stalling for months without any fruitful discussion.
A source from the government said, 'Lee actively started intervening in the 'semicon big deal' between the two groups and the possibility of a final agreement is high.'
This source also mentioned, 'Lee is trying to extract a mutual agreement, but he is not meddling in determining the final price.'
Hyundai's Chung Mong Hun and LG's Ku Bon Mu, the two groups' chairmen, will meet with each other on April 19 to discuss narrowing the gap on the final price tag.
Hyundai will take over LG Semiconductor, paying a price in the range of 160 to 200 billion dollars.
