Roh to meet leaders in China on July 7-10

President Roh Moo-hyun will visit China from July 7 to 10 at the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao, the Blue House said yesterday. The first lady, Kwon Yang-suk, will accompany Mr. Roh.
The two leaders are expected to spend a significant part of their time together discussing the North Korea nuclear arms issue, although trade and investment issues will also be on the agenda. Trade between the two neighbors has boomed in the 12 years since diplomatic relations were established.
Mr. Roh will also meet with other Chinese leaders, including Wu Bangguo, the chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
In Beijing, Mr. Roh will visit Hyundai Motor Company’s plant, and in Shanghai he will visit the site of Korea’s government-in-exile, which operated from the city when Korea was a colony of Japan.
