Text service starts to Japanese users

Dacom Corp., Korea’s second-largest fixed line carrier, announced yesterday that Korean cell phone users will be able to send mobile text messages in Korean and English to cell phone users in Japan starting today. To use the service, cell phone users must log on to Dacom’s Web site, www.002v.com, and enter the Japanese cell phone number to which they would like to send messages. Subscribers of all Japanese mobile communications service providers can receive the message. The charge is 150 won (15 cents) per message.
