Local spammers fall in global rankings

Korea’s reputation as one of the world’s worst producers of spam, or unsolicited e-mail, has improved, a global anti-spam organization said yesterday. Korea ranked seventh in terms of the number of Internet protocol (IP) addresses from which global spam originated so far this year, according to Spamhaus Project. In 2004 and in 2005, Korea was ranked third after the United States and China. The U.S. remained the leading source of spam, with 2,418 IP addresses.
