Go ‘nude’ this spring
The key to flower print dresses this spring is “nude.” Nude, in the fashion world, refers to a softened tone of the bright, bold colors.
For instance, a dress with red and yellow flowers will have the colors red and yellow on it, but will exude a soft, pastel tone. In the case of a dress with pink flowers, the pale pink will take over scarlet pink.
Ankle-length, layers
Spring collections in runways, fashion shoots and shops this spring suggest knee-length is the right way to go. So those who want to keep up with the fad might want to stay away from ankle-length.
In terms of silhouettes, there isn’t any big trend - flare or tulip, go with what you like and what you look best in, experts say.
Frills and ruffles are also noticeable, spicing up the toned-down spring dresses this spring. And various uses of fun accessories like belts, bags and shoes is another way to get creative if you think flower dresses are too quiet this season.
Jackets and cardigans
Industry experts say flower print dresses are like canvases that showcase sentimental watercolor paintings, or even a photograph of a plain picture dotted with blossomy flowers.
For 30-somethings or older who feel overwhelmed wrapped in big, bright flowers, experts advise that they go as “nude” as possible, or to pick flower prints as pale as possible.
In particular, they say they can rarely go wrong with pink.
But if you want to be taken seriously at the same time at work for instance, style it with a jacket.
But go for jackets in light materials and colors.
But if your lifestyle involves more activities, cardigans may prove to be more practical. After all, you can quickly fold it and shove it in your big bag. Also make sure to go for cardigans in soft colors like light gray or ivory.
