‘Gag Concert’ comedian to wed

Comedian Kim Byung-man, best known for his role in the “Master” series on “Gag Concert,” will get married next year, his agency said in a press release on Saturday.

Castle J Entertainment announced that Kim, 36, plans to marry his girlfriend of over a year. The agency didn’t release many details about Kim’s fiancee, but confirmed she was neither an entertainer nor a business owner, noting that Kim’s soon-to-be wife is just an “ordinary woman.” It also said that Kim had deep affection for her personality, sealing the deal for him to propose marriage.

Kim himself has yet to say anything about his pending marriage but is expected to comment on it after finishing the filming of his new entertainment show “The Laws of Jungle,” which is scheduled to air late next month. The show features Kim and other entertainers living in a Namibian jungle. Kim left for Africa on Thursday and is expected to return early next month.

The comedian is also set to make his singing debut, performing a duet with Park Sang-min on the singer’s new single. The song is scheduled to be released late this month.

개그맨 김병만 내년 봄 결혼

개그맨 김병만(사진)이 일반인 여자친구와 결혼을 전제로 교제하고 있다고 16일 밝혔다. 김병만의 소속사는 이날 “김병만이 지인의 소개로 만난 미모의 재원과 내년 초 결혼을 전제로 사귀고 있다”고 전했다. 소속사 관계자는 “교제한 지는 1년이 안 된 것으로 안다. 결혼은 내년 봄 즈음이 될 것 같다”고 말했다.

　한편 SBS 휴먼다큐 ‘나는 산다’가 개그맨 김병만의 이야기를 준비했다. 18일 밤 11시 10분. 김병만은 남들보다 불리한 조건에서 가진 것이 아무것도 없었기 때문에 자신이 할 수 있었던 건 오직 노력뿐이었다고 말한다. 지난 10년간 한 주도 쉬지 않고 무대에 올랐던 그는 KBS ‘개그콘서트’ 최장수 코너의 주인공이자 최다 출연자다. 그는 소재의 한계를 극복하기 위해 뭐든지 배우고 연습했다. 남들을 웃기는 게 그저 좋아 21살 때 무작정 상경한 김병만. 단돈 30만 원을 가지고 서울생활을 시작했다. 공채 개그맨 시험에 7번 낙방하면서도 결코 좌절하지 않았다. 또 무대공포증을 극복하려고 각고의 땀을 흘렸다.
