2) Supervision and guidance will be provided without revealing the victim’s identity as a measure of prevention.
3) At the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, we will launch a fact-finding group where the National Human Rights Commission of Korea and civilian experts will help in investigating sexual harassment and assault cases in the arts and culture community
4) and a center for reporting and counseling to support victims.
5) We will extend free legal support to victims who face threats and demands for counter indemnity from assailants using defamation and calumny accusations,
6) and if instances of secondary damage, such as the dismissal of or discrimination against a victim, are discovered during counseling, we will actively ask the police to investigate.
7) We plan to raise the legal penalty for rape through abuse of occupational authority to 10 years in prison and up to 50 million won ($47,000) in fines, and 5 years in prison and up to 30 million won in fines for sexual harassment.
8) With the raise in legal penalty, the statute of limitations will be also extended to 10 years and 7 years, respectively, for rape and harassment.
