Jung Joon-young to open eatery

Singer-songwriter, actor, professional gamer and now an international restaurant owner - Jung Joon-young added yet another title to his long resume, confirmed his agency C9 Entertainment on Tuesday.

According to his agency, Jung will open his French restaurant Maison de Coree in Paris next year. The launch comes after three years of preparation.

He will hold a pop-up restaurant in Paris from Oct. 29 to Nov. 17, ahead of the restaurant’s opening. The pop-up will be themed “De Seoul a Paris (From Seoul to Paris).”

Jung will team up with Chef Jun Lee, the owner of Seoul’s Michelin one-star contemporary cuisine restaurant, Soigne.

“I am starting my own restaurant after preparing for a long time,” he wrote in an Instagram post on Oct. 19 - the day he announced his culinary business plan. “This is a very happy moment for me.”

Jung is currently the lead vocalist of the rock band Drug Restaurant. The group will be holding a series of concerts on Dec. 1 to 2 at Samsung Hall in Ewha Womans University.
