Yunho, Yoshiki donate to victims

On Wednesday, Japanese star Yoshiki and Yunho from TVXQ were revealed to have made donations to assist in the rebuilding efforts after the devastation of the recent wildfire that broke out in Gangwon.

Yoshiki, the leader of Japanese rock band X-Japan, donated 100 million won ($87,785) to ChildFund Korea.

According to ChildFund on Wednesday, the singer handed the money to the association through a corporate body he runs in the United States, after hearing the news of a donation made by celebrity couple Lee Byung-hun and Rhee Min-jung, with whom he is friends.

He “sincerely hopes” that the region can recover soon, according to ChildFund Korea.

Yoshiki has taken the lead in donating money to help recovery efforts after natural disasters, such as earthquakes in Japan and China, as well as hurricanes in the United States.

Yunho gave 30 million won to the Community Chest of Korea.

“I hope I can be of help to those who have lost their homes due to the sudden wildfire,” the singer said.
