Radio Special: Original Soundtracks of North Korean Songs

KBS Radio's 'Songs of Hope with Lee Ho-sub and Lim Sue-min' will feature North Korean songs in its special 'South and North Becoming One through Song' program starting at 2:05 p.m. on June 30. Recordings will be original soundtracks.

The program will feature five songs: 'Nice to Meet You' by Lee Kyoung-sook, 'Whistle' by Chun Hae-young, 'Women Are Flowers' by Lee Bun-hee, 'Haedang-wha' by Joe Hae-bok, and 'Bless You', sung by a female trio.

This special program will explore how popular songs can serve as a way to fortify cultural identification in both South and North Korea.

Contemporary North Korean songs, songs written before the division, and North Koreans' favorite South Korean songs were chosen through researches for this program.
