20th Anniversary TV Specials for May 18 Kwangju Massacre

KBS and MBC both created special programs for the 20th anniversary of the May 18 Kwangju Massacre. 'After 20 years' is about the people who masterminded the massacre and the other 'After 20 years' is about the repression squad, the perpatrator of the massacre.

KBS's 'After 20 years,' which will be broadcast at 10pm on May 18, deals with the last 20 years of the people involved. It starts with Chun Nam-kwun of KBS's Chunju branch's broadcast on the May 27 following the massacre where he talks about the massacre after the repression of the facts. Following this it moves into the march with troop's announcements of, "Insurgents surrender!" "An Announcment to all leaders! It's a matter of time before we search you out!" and an english annoucement of, "Foreigners must not come out on the street!"

MBC's '20 years after the cordiality plan' reports on the repression squad 20 years after the massacre. The program shows the guilt and suffering of the members of the squad as the truth of the massacre was revealed.
