Amusement Parks Offering Attractions for Spring Season

Everland, Lotte World, Seoul Land, and Woobang TowerLand are attempting to attract visitors with a variety of events. From March 25 to April 30, Everland (0335-320-5000, for example, has decorated the park with tulips, narcissus, and hyacinths to attract visitors. Beginning March 25, Everland will also hold performances of European folk dances, such as the Spanish flamenco, along with a nightly laser show to welcome the spring season . At the entrance of the park Dutch cheese, sausage, and beer will be sold in keeping with the tulip theme.

Starting March 25, Lotte World (02-411-2000) will operate a pleasure boat cruise on the Sokchonho Lake. The cruise will be accompanied by a fountain show and a performance of the 'Waltz of Spring' by Johann Strauss. A 50 percent discount off the regular price of admisssion will be given to undergraduate and graduate school students by presenting their student identification cards. Lotte World will also hold a hiphop dance contest for high school and university students. The winning team will be presented with a scholarship in the amount of $890.

Starting April 1, Seoul Land (02-504-0011) will open a new ride called 'Shot Drop'. Unlike Lotte World's Gyrodrop - which slowly goes up to the top before plummeting to the bottom - Shot Drop bounces up and down along a 50m platform.

Woobang TowerLand (053-620-0100) will hold a drawing for a free Apartment and a Daewoo Magnus to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the park's opening. A firecracker festival will also be held in Tower Square at 8:00 p.m. on March 25. An anniversary concert will be staged in Lawn Square at 7:00 p.m. on March 28.
