BTN Fires President Huh

The Buddhist Television Network (BTN), a cable channel which is on the verge of bankruptcy, Thursday decided to fire president Huh Moon-do, former Chosun Ilbo reporter and reunification minister, to put an end to the current labor dispute stalled for more than three months since his inauguration.
The BTN board of trustees held a meeting after President Huh had adjourned the session and chose director Lee Su-deok as new president.
This will be officially recognized at the November 18 stockholders' session. BTN unionists welcomed the decision.
A source from the BTN said, 'WIth the discharge of Huh, it may be possible for us to induce new investment, also hopefully from the Chogye Order, and common Buddhists who were doubting Chun Doo-hwan subjects' survival will turn to help us as well.'
However, Huh insisted that the decision was null and void because although he had announced the suspension of the meeting the directors proceeded to elect the new president.
