Brad Pitt, the Heartthrob, Has Played Other Roles, Too

People magazine voted Brad Pitt the "Sexiest Man Alive" for the second time, making him the first person to win the title twice. His upcoming movie, "Snatch," is due to open in movie theaters in the United States early next year. Here are some of Pitt's other films:

12 Monkeys (1995)
Rated R

With Pitt, Bruce Willis and Christopher Plummer. Directed by Terry Gilliam.

In the 21st century, time travel is the only escape from an epidemic that has killed most of humanity. James Cole (Willis) travels back to Philadelphia of the 1990s to track down an ecological terrorist group responsible for starting the epidemic.
The police take Cole for a lunatic and lock him up next to Jeffrey Goines, a true lunatic, played by Mr. Pitt. The supporting role was a change from his usual heartthrob characters.

Thelma & Louise (1991)
Rated R

With Pitt, Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis. Directed by Ridley Scott.

In a brief cameo appearance as J.D., a cowboy drifter, Mr. Pitt created a character powerful enough to launch his career as a movie star, holding his own next to the stars, Sarandon and Davis.

Thelma Dickinson, a housewife played by Davis, and Louise Sawyer, a waitress played by Sarandon, go for a weekend drive through the Southwest United States and find themselves fleeing the law.

Seven (1995)
Rated R

With Morgan Freeman, Pitt, Kevin Spacey and Gwyneth Paltrow. Directed by David Fincher.

William Somerset (Freeman) is a detective assigned a major case just as he is about to retire. With a new partner, David Mills (Pitt), Somerset unfolds a series of murders by a serial killer.
