Choi Jin-sil Wins Suit Against Hanmi
The Seoul District Court has ruled in favor of popular actress Choi Jin-sil who sued Hanmi Pharmaceutical for damages. Hanmi was found to have used photos of the actress in their ad campaigns even though their contract term had long been over. The court ordered Hanmi to give Ms. Choi compensation in the amount of 40 million won for using her image commercially without legal or personal permission.The lawsuit was brought against Hanmi because the company kept using her photos with their promotions of their 'CeCe' vitamins line, even after the 6 month contract term ended some 5 years ago.
