Flowers Bloom Later Than Usual

Flowers called 'Messengers of Spring'- forsythias and azaleas - are expected to bloom later this year by three to four days.

In Seoul, forsythias bloom around March 2nd and azaleas around March 6.

Weather forecasters say that, " Due to lower temperatures and less rainfall in February, spring flower blooms will be delayed by up to 11 days at the most.".

Forsythias will begin flowering at Sogwipo, Cheju Island around March 17, follwed by Pusan (March 20), Taegu (March 24), Kwangju(March 29)and Taejon (March 30).

Azaleas will also start flowering at Sogwipo first and then Pusan (March 23), Yosu (March 24), and Taejon (April 2nd).
