Park Soo-keun Painting Fetches $244,500 at Sotheby"s

The Korean painter Park Soo-keun (1914-1965)'s 'Mother and Daughter Picking Crops' has been sold for $244,500 at a recent Sotheby's auction in New York. The painting, at 37.8 centimeters by 27.7 centimeters, depicts a mother and daughter gathering a harvest.
So far, among Park's artworks, 'Grain-Pounding Mother' had reached the highest price - $387,500 at Sotheby's.
Meanwhile, the Hoam Gallery has decided to extend its exhibition of works by Park until October 17, while allowing free entrance on September 24, Chuseok.
