Pre-Ceramics Expo Will Open in October

Beginning October 10 and running until October 23, a 'Pre-Ceramics Exposition' will be held at three separate locations in Korea; Sulbong Park in Kyonggi province, Yeoju-Kun Riverside Park, and the Kwangju-Kun special cultural district.

The Kyonggi province and the organizing committee of the World Ceramic Exposition stated on August 4 that they will hold the October event as a practice run before opening the World Ceramic Expo in 2001.

Many interesting and beautiful exhibitions of ceramics will be displayed at the October Pre-Exposition. There will be an exhibition introducing the ceramic styles of Korea as well as an exhibition of celadon porcelain tea cups and a special exhibition of North Korean ceramics.

The Pre-Expo will also display 100 pieces of ceramic works by North Korean artists as a way of encouraging the participation of North Korean ceramists at the World Ceramic Expo in 2001.

The North Korean works will be divided between the Ichun, Yeoju, and Kwangju branches of the exposition.
